‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Dominates Late Night Ratings for Third Week Running
Nielsen’s live-plus-same-day data for the week of March 9 show Jimmy Kimmel Live leading late-night among adults 18-49. The ABC program posted a 0.16 rating in that key demo.
Ratings and broadcast performance
This marks the third consecutive weekly victory in the adults 18-49 demographic. It is the show’s sixth win in the demo across the last seven weeks.
An episode on March 5 featuring Zach Braff, Donald Faison and comedian Chris Fleming was the top telecast in a recent three-week span. That broadcast earned a 0.21 rating among adults 18-49.
Digital reach and audience growth
The show’s YouTube channel has surpassed 281 million views in 2026. Nightly monologues have averaged more than 4.4 million views each.
Year over year, total audience size rose 22% to 1.91 million viewers. The adults 18-49 audience climbed 45% compared with the prior year.
Season to date, the program is up 20% in total viewers to 1.99 million. The demo is also up 20% versus the same period last season.
Suspension, return and recovery
ABC suspended the series in September 2025 after backlash. The move followed host remarks about President Donald Trump and responses to the killing of Charlie Kirk.
The suspension came amid pressure from regulators and some station groups. Several affiliates still declined to air episodes after the program returned.
Since resuming, the show has recovered on both linear television and digital platforms. Jimmy Kimmel Live now dominates late-night ratings and has secured a third week running at the top of the demo.
