Estadio Azteca/Banorte Outlines Mobility Plan for Mexico vs. Portugal Match

The Estadio Azteca/Banorte will test its mobility measures ahead of World Cup 2026. The friendly between Mexico and Portugal takes place Saturday, March 28 at 19:00.

The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) confirmed the match will serve as a rehearsal for World Cup operations. The FMF said no general parking will be available near the stadium.

Access and road closures

A security operation called “Última milla” will be in effect around the stadium. Only residents and ticketed spectators will be allowed inside the perimeter.

Vehicular access will be restricted to authorized vehicles. Authorities will enforce partial closures from 06:00 and full closure from 13:00 on March 28.

  • Authorized staff and event accreditations.
  • Residents with Coyoacán permits (local traffic).
  • Authorized health services and emergency vehicles.

Transport alternatives

Normal routes that use CETRAM Huipulco will be relocated to Viaducto Tlalpan. Plan accordingly when travelling.

Entry points and practical advice

The plan directs pedestrian entries from two main zones. From Santa Úrsula or Av. del Imán use gates 3 and 8.

From CETRAM Huipulco or Calzada de Tlalpan, follow pedestrian access via Tlalpan. Staff will guide flows at each point.

  • Arrive early to avoid delays.
  • Prioritize public transport and official shuttle services.
  • Follow signage and instructions from security staff.
  • Allow extra travel time for road closures.
