Ex-Detective Revisits Michael Jackson’s Raided Bedroom, Haunted by Child’s Drawing
Former detective Ruby Wolff returned to Neverland Ranch more than two decades after a 2003 police raid. She became emotional at the gates. A child’s drawing on a wall stopped her in her tracks.
Return to the property
Wolff led investigators during the 2003 search linked to allegations by 13-year-old Gavin Arvizo. Filmogaz.com spoke with her about the visit. She described a flood of memory and strong emotion.
An ex-detective revisits Michael Jackson’s raided bedroom and says she felt haunted by a child’s drawing. The image, she said, underlined the vulnerability of children involved in the case.
Scenes inside Neverland
Wolff described the bedroom as lavish yet disordered. Drawers were messy and stage costumes lay scattered.
She noted unusual decor and statues of children on the lawn. She also recalled music playing, which she identified as Peter Pan themes.
Wolff pointed out rotting food and personal items left about. Jackson’s famous glove was found on the floor.
Evidence uncovered
During the search, officers found a briefcase containing pornographic materials. Wolff called the contents a piece of the investigative puzzle.
The discovery formed part of the material gathered during the probe. Wolff said the items added context to claims made by the accuser.
Courtroom aftermath
The 2005 trial ended in Michael Jackson’s acquittal. Wolff said the verdict was a crushing moment for investigators.
She questioned the composition and influences on the jury. The outcome left her with unresolved feelings about justice for the alleged victim.
Concerns about a new film
Wolff criticized the upcoming biopic Michael. She said the movie risks glamorizing Jackson while ignoring abuse allegations.
The film includes Jaafar Jackson, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo in its cast. Wolff urged filmmakers to consider the impact on survivors and children.
Fresh civil claims
Separately, a federal lawsuit alleges sexual abuse of four siblings over multiple years. The suit accuses Jackson of grooming, drugging and coercion.
Filmogaz.com reports the complaint names Jackson’s estate and staff. It alleges those individuals enforced silence agreements and facilitated the abuse.
The plaintiffs said the 2019 Leaving Neverland documentary helped them understand their experiences. Jackson’s estate has denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit a desperate money grab.
