Sunday’s NCAA Tournament Games: Odds and Predictions for March Madness Betting
Eric Timm previews his top college basketball betting picks for Sunday, March 22. The selections cover NIT matchups and an NCAA Tournament Round of 32 game.
Seattle Redhawks at Auburn Tigers
Seattle moves to Auburn after beating St. Thomas in the NIT opening round. Auburn remains one of the most talked-about teams left out of the NCAA Tournament.
The Redhawks have quality wins over #61 Stanford and #52 Washington. They also faced Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s and Santa Clara this season, and pushed Gonzaga to overtime in Spokane.
Seattle relies on a top-20 defense that can keep games tight. Timm lists Seattle +13.5 (Bet365) as his pick.
Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs UNLV Runnin’ Rebels
Tulsa enjoyed a strong regular season but missed the NCAA field largely due to its schedule. UNLV enters at about #104 and has been highly inconsistent this year.
Tulsa lost only twice at home all season, both to USF and UAB. The status of Tulsa guard David Green is a noted concern ahead of this game.
Still, Timm expects Tulsa to win and cover. His selection is Tulsa -4.5 (DraftKings).
Connecticut Huskies vs UCLA Bruins
The matchup pairs coaches Mick Cronin and Dan Hurley on opposite sidelines. Both teams present questions on consistency and execution late in the season.
UCLA closed strong and showed improvement in the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago. Their first-round win in Philadelphia came against a struggling UCF squad.
Timm believes UConn will click in this spot and cover the line. His pick is UConn -4.5 (FanDuel).
Notes and context
- Two of the three selections come from NIT games on the Sunday slate.
- Seattle’s defense and recent wins make them a live underdog in Auburn.
- Tulsa’s limited home losses underscore their season-long consistency.
- Coaching matchups and recent form drive the UConn vs UCLA projection.
Recap of Sunday best bets
- Seattle +13.5 (Bet365)
- Tulsa -4.5 (DraftKings)
- UConn -4.5 (FanDuel)
