Shatner’s Trek legacy
William Shatner first played Captain James T. Kirk when The Original Series premiered in 1966. He portrayed the captain across TV and films for about 28 years, through 1994’s Star Trek: Generations.
Generations remained his final live-action Trek project for Paramount. Shatner later lent his voice to games and produced documentaries, including 2011’s The Captains.
The Captains contributors
- Patrick Stewart (The Next Generation)
- Avery Brooks (Deep Space Nine)
- Kate Mulgrew (Voyager)
- Chris Pine (Kelvin films)
