UNCW Hosts Inaugural Postseason Basketball Tournament Game

The UNCW men’s basketball team will host a second-round National Invitation Tournament game Saturday night at Trask Coliseum. The Seahawks advanced after a dramatic 68-67 victory over Yale in the opening round Tuesday.

Late comeback seals win

UNCW trailed early and battled back throughout the game. The Seahawks fell behind 9-0 in the opening minutes and trailed by 14 in the second half.

Christian May delivered a go-ahead three-pointer with 34 seconds remaining. That basket proved decisive in the 68-67 final score against the Yale Bulldogs.

Opponent and scheduling

Coach Takayo Siddle’s team will face the winner of tonight’s Dayton vs. Bradley matchup. That result will determine the Seahawks’ second-round opponent.

The game will be played at Trask Coliseum in Wilmington, North Carolina. This will be UNCW’s inaugural postseason basketball tournament game on its home floor.
