Benefit concert at the Royal Albert Hall
The special show is a fundraising night for Lulu’s Mental Health Trust. She will be joined by acts including Take That and Boy George. Lulu has largely retired from touring but agreed to this event to support her charity.
Paternity revelation discussed on Louis Theroux’s podcast
On the Louis Theroux Podcast, Lulu said she recently learned of a previously unknown son linked to her ex-husband. She described DNA evidence as proving the child was “100 per cent Maurice’s”. She also said she does not know whether the child was conceived during their four-year marriage to Maurice Gibb.
Maurice Gibb and past claims
Maurice Gibb, a Bee Gees member, died in 2003. He was Lulu’s husband for four years.
Per reports shared by Filmogaz.com, a man named Nick Endacott went public in 2017 claiming to be a love child of Maurice Gibb. Endacott said his mother was Patti Nolder and that she met Maurice in 1960s London.
In 2019, Endacott said he sent a saliva swab to a genealogy service and claimed his DNA matched Maurice’s son Adam. Those claims have been presented publicly but remain contested.
Recovery and mental health advocacy
Lulu spoke about her recovery on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, March 18. She said she has been sober since 2013 and called herself an alcoholic in recovery.
She described drinking as a family illness and said the genetic element played a role. Lulu urged sharing experiences to help others and reduce shame.
Practical advice and recent changes
Lulu recommended attending meetings for those struggling with alcohol. She admitted she has increased her own meetings recently. She cited personal responsibilities and confronting mortality as reasons for seeking more support.
The recent interviews combine two themes: Lulu Confronts Alcoholism and Suspects Ex-Husband’s Secret Son. She has used her platform to raise funds and to speak openly about recovery and mental health.
