Tragic San Jose E-Bike Crash: Boy Killed, Another Injured

An e-bike crash in San Jose on Thursday afternoon killed one boy and injured another. San Jose Police officers responded just before 1:10 p.m. to reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Crash details

Officers arrived at the intersection of Remington Way and Allenwood Drive. Preliminary findings show the boys were riding northbound on Remington Way. The e-bike lost control and skidded through the intersection.

Victims

The boy driving the e-bike was taken to a hospital and later died from his injuries. Officials did not release his name or age.

The other boy was a passenger. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene.

Investigation and city impact

San Jose Police Department described the crash as the city’s seventh fatal collision this year. It is also the seventh traffic death in San Jose for the year.
