Munster Announces Squad to Tackle Sharks in Durban

Munster have named their team for Saturday’s URC Round 13 trip to King’s Park in Durban against the Hollywoodbets Sharks. Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm Irish time and 5pm local. JJ Hanrahan will captain Munster for the first time on his 155th appearance and his 150th United Rugby Championship outing.

There are six changes from the side that beat Zebre three weeks ago. Tom Ahern (neck), Alex Nankivell (foot) and John Hodnett (hamstring) return to the starting XV. Ethan Coughlan, Diarmuid Barron and academy flanker Seán Edogbo also come into the team.

Mike Haley, Calvin Nash and Shane Daly keep their places in the back three. Alex Nankivell pairs with returning Ireland international Tom Farrell in midfield. Ethan Coughlan and JJ Hanrahan will form the half-back partnership.

Michael Milne starts after returning from international duty. Diarmuid Barron and Michael Ala’alatoa complete the front row. Tom Ahern partners Jean Kleyn in the engine room. The back row features Seán Edogbo, John Hodnett and Gavin Coombes.

Lee Barron, Josh Wycherley and John Ryan provide front-row cover. Edwin Edogbo, Fineen Wycherley and Brian Gleeson complete the forward replacements. Paddy Patterson and Dan Kelly are the backs on the bench.
