Southampton Man Arrested with Nearly 200 Child Abuse Images
Thomas Duff, 20, of Burnetts Lane in West End, Southampton, has admitted to creating hundreds of indecent images of children. The defendant appeared at Southampton Crown Court on Wednesday, March 11 and entered guilty pleas to three charges.
Court plea and charges
Duff admitted making a total of 193 indecent photographs. The offences were recorded as three separate charges relating to those images.
The case drew attention locally after officers located the material in Southampton. The man arrested was subsequently brought before the court.
Classification of images
Police and prosecutors classified the images into the recognised categories. There were 11 Category A images, 35 Category B images and 147 Category C images. In total, these amount to nearly 200 child abuse images found during the investigation.

Judge Gary Lucie imposed a 12-month community order as the sentence. The order includes a rehabilitation requirement and unpaid work.
