UCF Provides Injury Updates on Jamichael Stillwell and John Bol for March Madness
In Philadelphia, UCF prepares for its NCAA Tournament opener on March 20 against UCLA.
Senior forward Jamichael Stillwell will start despite two torn ligaments in his right ankle.
Stillwell’s status and background
Stillwell is a 6-foot-8, 245-pound senior who began his college career at Miami-Dade.
He earned the nickname “Mr. Stand on Business” during his junior college days. He walked to the team bus Wednesday wearing a boot for the sendoff.
Stillwell practiced fully at Xfinity Mobile Arena and is expected to play. He has recorded eight double-doubles this season.
He ranks third in the Big 12 in offensive rebounds. He averages 3.2 offensive rebounds per game.
Roster and health updates
UCF finished the season 21-11 and went 9-9 in Big 12 play. Injuries affected the Knights at times.
Sophomore center John Bol, listed at 7-foot-2, said he is ready to go. He did not comment on the chest episode in the Big 12 quarterfinal against Arizona.

Senior guard Riley Kugel leads UCF at 14.4 points per game. He is shooting a career-high 39.2 percent from three.
Kugel banged his knee on the scorer’s table against Cincinnati but participated in open practice. Jeremy Foumena also missed UCF’s final two regular-season games and was seen practicing fully.
UCLA’s injury notes
UCLA entered the tournament with its own health questions. Tyler Bilodeau suffered a knee sprain in the Bruins’ Big Ten Tournament win over Michigan State.
Point guard Donovan Dent injured his calf against Purdue. Dent ranks third in the nation in assists per game.
