Jan Jacob van Dijk Leads New Coalition Talks in Ede
Jan Jacob van Dijk has been appointed to carry out exploratory talks about forming a new municipal coalition in Ede. The appointment was reported on 20 March 2026.
Mandate and process
Gerrit Flier asked Van Dijk to take on the role. Flier is the list leader of the largest party after the municipal elections, the SGP.
Van Dijk will meet with all council factions. He is to hold one or more conversations and map possible coalition options.
The exploratory meetings are scheduled over two days, on Friday and Saturday. Those sessions begin with introductions between the parties and the verkenner.
Public report and next steps
Van Dijk will present a public report of his findings. That report will include an advice on which parties can best work together.
Parties recommended to form a coalition will then draft a college agreement. A formateur will lead that negotiation toward a final executive.
