Bihar Diwas celebrations at Gandhi Maidan

The state marks Bihar Diwas to remember its formation on March 22, 1912. A three-day public programme runs from March 22 to March 24 at Gandhi Maidan.

Concerts by Shaan, Papon and Sona Mohapatra are scheduled on separate evenings. Entry to the grounds is free.

The 1937 Bengali film Vidyapati will be screened at Arthshila. It runs for 141 minutes and includes English subtitles.

Directed by Debaki Bose and produced by New Theatres, the film features Pahari Sanyal, Kanan Devi and Prithviraj Kapoor. The screening is on March 22 at 4 pm and has free entry.

Stand-up, spoken word and open-mic shows

Several smaller venues will host comedy and spoken-word nights across the weekend. Shows range from freewheeling open-mic sets to ticketed stand-up specials.

Eid Mubarak — mixed-format show

The event Eid Mubarak blends stand-up, spoken word, poetry and music. Local comedians Ashutosh and Azhar perform material rooted in Patna life.

The show takes place on March 22 at 5 pm at Planet Patna. Tickets start at ₹111.

Tape A Tale: Ghar (open mic)

Ghar is an open-mic format where anyone may perform stories or poems. Sets are short, about five minutes, and alternate between Hindi and English.

This session is on March 21 at 4 pm at Brewmn Coffee. Entry prices start at ₹200.

Nil Tiwari — Maine Sun Liya

Comedian Nil Tiwari presents a solo stand-up show titled Maine Sun Liya. His set focuses on middle-class life, corporate fatigue and modern relationships.

The performance is scheduled for March 22 at 6 pm at Baithke Bihari Cafe. Tickets begin at ₹199.
