UNC Enters NCAA Tournament Without Caleb Wilson Against Rising VCU

No. 6 seed UNC (24-8) meets No. 11 seed VCU (27-7) on Thursday. Tip is set for 6:50 p.m. ET at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.
The matchup is part of the South Region and will air on TNT. The winner moves on to face the Illinois-Penn victor on Saturday in Greenville.
Wilson’s injury and UNC status
Wilson was an All-ACC first-team selection. He suffered the new thumb injury while rehabbing a previous left-hand fracture.
His last appearance came on Feb. 20. Since then, UNC is 5-3 across eight games without him.

VCU’s momentum
