Two Men Face Charges Under National Security Act
Counter Terrorism Policing London has charged two men following an inquiry into alleged surveillance of Jewish community locations and individuals in London. The suspects were arrested and detained on Friday, 6 March.
Charges and alleged timeline
On Wednesday, 18 March, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised criminal charges. The pair face offences under section 3 of the National Security Act 2023. They are accused of conduct likely to assist a foreign intelligence service between 9 July 2025 and 15 August 2025.
The investigation is linked to Iran. Prosecutors say the alleged actions occurred during the specified July and August 2025 window.

Investigation and policing response
Detectives worked intensively after the arrests on 6 March. They liaised closely with the CPS to progress the case.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans, Senior National Coordinator for CTP, described the allegations as very serious. She said the inquiry was complex and that officers had been working around the clock.
Evans emphasised efforts to reassure the Jewish community and the wider public. She said Counter Terrorism Policing remains determined to identify and pursue those who may pose a threat.
