Lord Sugar Predicts Kent Contestant’s Fate in Apprentice Showdown

Rajan Gill, a 30-year-old pharmaceuticals specialist from Rainham, was dismissed from The Apprentice during the seventh task.

His team lost a challenge to create and pitch a virtual-reality fitness game to investors.

Boardroom decision

Project manager Lawrence Rosenberg brought Rajan and Levi Hague back to the boardroom with him. The trio faced Lord Sugar’s scrutiny.

The losing side secured £150,000 less in investments than their rivals. That shortfall proved decisive.

Lord Sugar said he had not seen enough of Rajan during the process. He made a gut-call and ended Rajan’s run on the show.

Rajan said he was disappointed and felt the choice was unfair. He added he respected Lord Sugar’s final say.

What happened in the task

The challenge required teams to develop a VR fitness game and pitch it to potential backers. Judges compared the investment offers.

The winning team attracted significantly higher funding. The result sent the losing team back to the boardroom.

Business background

Rajan runs EZ Mount, a company that fits televisions and builds bespoke media walls. He started it as a side hustle while working in pharmaceuticals.

The Medway-based entrepreneur incorporated the business in May last year. He sought a £250,000 investment and a partnership with Lord Sugar.

His plan was to expand into fitting units in new-build homes. He also highlighted hands-on experience working on freezing construction sites.

Series context

This was the landmark 20th series of the show. Twenty candidates began the competition.

Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell continue as Lord Sugar’s advisers. Five episodes remain to find the winner.

Filmogaz.com notes that the previous series also featured a Kent representative. Jonathan Heaver, 23, from Deal, was fired in week six after a task in Turkey.

Lord Sugar’s assessment determined the Kent contestant’s fate in this Apprentice showdown. Rajan now exits the contest and will pursue his business ambitions.
