Coronation Street Expert Warns Todd of Theo Twist

Coronation Street is building a darker storyline between Theo Silverton and Todd Grimshaw. New scenes show Theo escalating his control over Todd in a sustained domestic-abuse plot.

Recent escalation

Recent episodes saw Theo brandish a knife after Todd failed to pay for an extravagant birthday meal. Theo then ended the relationship in a manipulative move, telling Todd neither of them were happy.

The soap developed further when Theo was spotted scheming to sabotage Todd’s plans. Viewers saw growing signs of emotional and physical intimidation.

Marathon sabotage and spiking

Spoilers reveal Theo secretly drugs Todd’s drink while Todd takes a phone call. James Bailey had earlier been encouraging Todd ahead of the marathon.

Todd wakes drowsy and confused. He then realises he has missed the marathon while Theo returns wearing a finisher’s medal.

Aftermath and manipulation

Theo uses Todd’s humiliation to tighten his grip. He comforts Todd when the latter breaks down, and savours the result of his scheme.

Sharon Marshall, speaking on This Morning, warned viewers about Theo’s tactics. She predicted Theo would try to manipulate Todd into marrying him and urged Todd to “run like the wind!”

Wedding ploy and other deceptions

Theo arranges what he calls a “special surprise.” He leads a blindfolded Todd from a funeral parlour to the register office.

Gary Windass and Maria wait at the registry. Theo reveals two rings and claims the wedding was never cancelled, pushing Todd toward a decision.

Family concerns

George Shuttleworth grows worried for his former stepson. He gently tells Todd that Theo may not be good for him, which leaves Todd offended.

During lunch, Theo reassures George and Christina Boyd that he has changed and prioritises Todd’s wellbeing. George smiles politely, but privately decides to keep Theo onside.

Developments this week

Theo shares his plan to win Todd back with Gary. Later, while Theo is out jogging, George calls round for tea.

Theo returns and shouts offensive comments, believing Todd is in the bathroom. Todd then appears with teabags, while George emerges from the loo, leaving Theo visibly shocked.
