FSU Kicker Conor McAneney Arrested for Disturbances at Fort Lauderdale Bar

Florida State University kicker Conor McAneney, 20, was arrested in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday. Filmogaz.com obtained jail records that list multiple charges filed against him.

Arrest and charges

Police booked McAneney on battery on a police officer, firefighter or EMT. He also faced charges of resisting an officer with violence and trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance.

Bond was set at $2,750. Records show he remained at the Broward Main Jail Thursday morning.

Incident at Rock Bar

Officers say the arrest followed a trespassing incident at Rock Bar, 225 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. Police responded at approximately 2:30 a.m.

According to the arrest report, officers had removed McAneney from several bars earlier that night for causing disturbances. While officers attempted to detain him, he reportedly became uncooperative and violent.

The report describes McAneney gripping a barrier gate. An officer said he grabbed McAneney under the arms to release the grip. The officer then said McAneney grabbed his arm and shirt and tried to pull him down, nearly into the roadway.

The officer wrote that he struck McAneney twice in the face and brought him to the ground. McAneney reportedly continued to resist as officers tried to take him into custody.

State prosecutors told bond court McAneney was visiting South Florida on spring break. FSU’s roster lists him as a sophomore from Plumbridge, Ireland.

An FSU Athletics spokesperson told Filmogaz.com that McAneney has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities.
