Bear Appears Behind TV Reporter in Live Broadcast
March 18 (Filmogaz.com) — KTLA-TV reporter Erin Myers was broadcasting from a Monrovia neighborhood when a bear wandered into view behind her. The live segment was teasing a story about local bear encounters. The animal walked out from beside a garage and a parked trailer.
Live interruption and on-air reaction
Megan Telles, also with KTLA, noticed the animal on camera. She quickly handed the broadcast back to Myers. Myers stayed at a safe distance and watched the bear while continuing the report.
Myers later said this marked the second time a bear interrupted one of her live reports. The brief footage captured the animal moving near a trap placed in the area.
Trap and neighborhood incident
Wildlife officials had set the trap for a bear believed to be living under a nearby home. Neighbors reported an aggressive encounter over the weekend on Oakglade Drive.
A woman walking with her dog was reportedly swiped by the bear during that incident. Authorities later confirmed they captured and euthanized the animal believed responsible.
Context and coverage
The segment shows how quickly wildlife can appear in residential areas. Reports and video of the moment circulated after the television crew shared the footage.
