Yanhan Zhou Thrilled to Continue DP World Tour Rookie Season in China
Seventeen-year-old Yanhan Zhou arrives at the Hainan Classic presented by MAEXTRO with momentum. This week marks his seventh DP World Tour start and his fourth since earning his place via the China Tour Order of Merit last year.
Home events and expectations
Zhou is scheduled to play two home events on the Asian Swing. The Hainan Classic and the Volvo China Open will both be staged in China.
He has already enjoyed success domestically, with seven wins in China in 2025. Playing at Mission Hills Haikou gives him familiar surroundings and a supportive crowd.
Rookie season progress
He made his full DP World Tour debut in Bahrain in January. He has also competed in Qatar and Kenya since then.
Zhou is still seeking his first made cut this season. He tied for 31st at the Hainan Classic last year and aims to build incrementally on that result.
In Qatar he produced eight birdies in the opening round. That performance encouraged him and boosted his confidence.
Mental approach
Zhou says he is focusing on concentration and confidence. He prefers small, steady gains rather than setting lofty targets.
He intends to stay fully focused, play smart, and avoid putting pressure on himself. Zhou is thrilled to continue his rookie season on the DP World Tour during the China swing.
Support from fellow Chinese pros
The Hainan Classic is co-sanctioned with the China Tour and features a strong Chinese contingent. Zhou will lean on the experience of teammates and compatriots.
- Wenyi Ding — winner of the Global Amateur Pathway in 2024.
- Ashun Wu — five-time DP World Tour winner, the most wins by any Chinese player.
Zhou says he will ask them for advice when needed. He values their guidance as he adapts to a global schedule.
