Allegations and investigation

Bay County Sheriff’s Office said investigators were contacted Wednesday by a Tontitown police detective. The report described alleged past sexual abuse involving a child under 12.

A 14-year-old victim disclosed during a forensic interview that the abuse occurred when she was nine. The family was on vacation in Panama City Beach and staying at a home on Danny Drive.

She said Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap and to sit beside him on a couch. The child said he covered them with a blanket and then manipulated her underwear and grazed her genitals.

She reported he rubbed his hands on her thighs and then apologized. The victim said the behavior stopped after the apology.

The victim’s father confronted Duggar on March 17, 2026. Duggar admitted the actions to the father and to Tontitown detectives.

Charges, arrest and custody

BCSO charged Duggar with lewd and lascivious behavior. Charges include molestation of a victim younger than 12 and conduct by someone 18 or older.

He was arrested out of state and faces the listed charges. He is currently set to be Extradited to Bay County.

Authorities say Duggar admitted the conduct to investigators. Formal charges were filed after the initial report and interviews.
