Creative team

Peter Sohn will direct the new film. Sohn previously directed Elemental and The Good Dinosaur.

Brad Bird remains the screenwriter for the third film. Bird wrote and directed the first two entries but will not direct this one.

Bird’s schedule includes pre-production work on Ray Gunn for Skydance, which limits his availability.

Cast

  • Craig T. Nelson returns as Robert “Bob” Parr, also known as Mr. Incredible.
  • Holly Hunter returns as Helen Parr, Elastigirl.
  • Sarah Vowell returns as Violet Parr.
  • Spencer Fox and Huckleberry Milner have both voiced Dashiell “Dash” Parr.
  • Samuel L. Jackson returns as Lucius Best, also called Frozone.
  • Brad Bird continues to voice Edna “E” Mode.

Box office and franchise history

The franchise began with the first film in 2004. That original movie earned more than $600 million worldwide.

A sequel arrived 14 years later. The 2018 follow-up grossed over $1.2 billion globally and was a major success.

That sequel focused on the Parr family working to restore public trust in superheroes.

Looking ahead

The June 16, 2028 date sets a clear timeline for production and marketing. Fans can now plan around a firm theatrical release.

Further creative details remain limited. Pixar and Disney are expected to release more information in the coming months.
