Eric García Departs Due to Injury
Eric García has suffered another setback in his recent fitness problems. The defender left a match early after feeling pain in his right hamstring.
Injury timeline
He first reported an overload in the right biceps femoris on March 7 at San Mamés. That issue kept him out of the games against Newcastle and Sevilla.
He returned to action but lasted only twenty minutes before asking to be substituted. In that game, Eric García departs due to injury and Ronald Araújo was sent to warm up immediately.
Tests and prognosis
Initial evaluations suggest the problem may be more than a simple overload. Further scans and tests are scheduled for Thursday to determine the full extent.
Squad availability and schedule
The calendar offers a brief respite after the upcoming match with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. An international break follows, giving the player roughly two weeks to recover.
Manager Hansi Flick should also see the return of Alejandro Balde, Jules Koundé, and Frenkie de Jong after the break. Their availability will ease squad rotation concerns.
