Niall Horan Credits Girlfriend Amelia Woolley for Inspiring New Album and Song

Niall Horan says a single evening changed his personal life and the sound of his next record. The One Direction alum told Capital Breakfast on March 17 that a casual dinner where he met Amelia Woolley inspired the new song “Dinner Party.”

Song as the seed for the album

Horan described the track as the starting point for his fourth studio album. He credits Amelia Woolley, his girlfriend, as a major creative influence on the record’s direction.

According to Horan, the dinner was more than a brief encounter. It became the foundation for years of memories and the themes he explores in new songs.

Writing and release details

The singer said he first wrote “Dinner Party” last summer while renting a house in Surrey, England. He announced the single earlier this month and set its release for Friday, March 20.

On social media he called the song a celebration of a life-changing night. He added that the phrase “dinner party” anchored many of the album’s ideas.

Fan sightings and promotion

In the weeks before the announcement, fans shared reports of Horan buying drinks at a Brooklyn restaurant named Dinner Party. Other sightings involved a Los Angeles venue called Met Him At a Bar.

Commercial context

The upcoming album will be Horan’s first since 2023’s The Show. That LP debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

His three solo albums all reached the top five. Flicker hit No. 1 in 2017. Heartbreak Weather peaked at No. 4 in 2020.
