Comic Relief 2026: Schedule, Sketches, and Updates Revealed

Red Nose Day returns to television on Friday 20 March 2026. The live fundraiser will air from MediaCityUK in Salford and begin at 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer. For the first time, the event will also be streamed live on the BBC’s official YouTube channel.

Presenters and main show details

Davina McCall will once again lead the broadcast. She will be joined by Katherine Ryan, Nick Mohammed, Joel Dommett and Catherine Tate appearing as Nan. The live show runs for three hours and finishes at 10pm.

Comic Relief 2026 viewers can stream the main event on BBC One, iPlayer and the BBC YouTube channel. The night-long schedule begins at 7pm and concludes at 10pm. Additional related programming airs before and after the big night.

Confirmed sketches and performances

Several sketches and special pieces have been announced. These will form part of the televised fundraising lineup.

  • The Bank Job starring Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
  • An Amandaland sketch featuring multiple famous Amandas.
  • The Traitors: The Movie sequel with Iain Stirling, Vicky Patison, Alison Steadman and Rachel, Stephen and Fiona.
  • The Creator Band — four digital creators Ayame, Sarel, Victor Kunda and Specs Gonzalez performing live.

The Amandaland sketch

Lucy Punch and Philippa Dunne return as Amanda and Anne. The scene sees them at BBC Broadcasting House for an interview with Sara Cox. Confirmed Amandas include Amanda Holden, Amanda Lamb, Amanda Barrie, Amanda Byram and Amanda Collier.

Several specials will surround the main broadcast. These extend the fundraising and entertainment across the week.

  • Romesh Ranganathan hosts a Comic Relief Does The Weakest Link special on BBC Two at 10pm.
  • On Saturday 21 March, Comic Relief: More Funny For Money airs as a highlights show on BBC One and iPlayer.
  • Comic Relief’s Hits and Hidden Gems airs on BBC Two at 8:45pm, featuring archive moments from Adele, One Direction, The Spice Girls, Sam Smith, John Legend, Helen Mirren, Robbie Coltrane and Alan Partridge channelling Kate Bush.
  • The One Show will run an exclusive preview on Thursday 19 March with behind-the-scenes access and rehearsal footage.
  • Blue Peter airs a Red Nose Day special episode on Friday 20 March.

Greg James and Radio 1’s Longest Ride

BBC Radio 1’s Greg James began a 1,000km tandem cycle on Friday 13 March. The ride lasts eight days and crosses England and Wales. It finishes in Edinburgh on Friday 20 March. Coverage is available on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Sounds.

Red Nose Day merchandise and fundraising

Red Noses are available to buy on Amazon from £2.50. A collector pack costs £12.50 and a multipack of 30 noses is priced at £60. Other merchandise includes tissues, badges, kitchen towel and bucket hats.

A portion of merchandise proceeds will support Comic Relief’s work on poverty, food, healthcare and shelter in the UK and overseas.
