The Central Board of Film Certification cleared the sequel with an ‘A’ rating after an Examining Committee review. More than 21 cuts and changes were requested. The final running time is 229 minutes, after trims totaling over 94 seconds.

Certification and edits

The EC ordered multiple audio and visual changes. Several abusive words were muted or replaced. The CBFC did not list the exact words.

Violent shots were shortened in several scenes. A hammer strike on a head was cut by two seconds. A cement block impact and an eye-smash were each reduced by four seconds. Beheading and kicking visuals were shortened by 24 seconds in total.

Two factual corrections were requested. One involved a historical reference in subtitles. The other corrected the name of a city.

Makers were told to add two disclaimers. One addressed drug use. The other read, “This film includes disturbing content, and viewer discretion is strongly recommended”.

The sequel will use the chapter structure like the first film. The board asked that chapter titles appear in Hindi. An Animal Welfare Board certificate was provided for animal scenes.

Production also supplied permission for references to the Prime Minister and for archived news footage. All certification paperwork complied with the board’s requirements.
