Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 40 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Orlando Magic 113-108 in Orlando. He led the team to its 10th straight victory, scoring 40 against the Magic.

Chet Holmgren added 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Ajay Mitchell contributed 16 points, including five during a decisive mid-fourth-quarter run.

Paolo Banchero finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for Orlando. Jalen Suggs added 14 points as the Magic dropped a second straight game.

Orlando had entered the matchup fresh off a seven-game winning streak. The Magic could not sustain that momentum on Tuesday night.

This marked Gilgeous-Alexander’s 129th career game with 20 or more points. He shot 14 of 27 from the field and made 9 of 11 free throws.

He hit three of five from beyond the arc. His final 3-pointer gave Oklahoma City a 102-96 lead with 3:11 remaining.

Game flow and turning points

Oklahoma City opened the second quarter with a 19-5 run to lead 45-27. Holmgren energized that spurt with three dunks and a midrange jumper.

Jevon Carter sparked Orlando’s response with back-to-back 3-pointers. Banchero then opened the third quarter with a scoring burst that briefly put the Magic ahead by seven.

Closing minutes

Gilgeous-Alexander sat on the bench when Ajay Mitchell scored inside to lift the Thunder to a 91-90 lead with 8:05 left. Mitchell followed with a three-point play and Isaiah Joe added a 3-pointer.

Center Isaiah Hartenstein recorded his third straight scoreless game. He finished with seven rebounds and eight assists in 16 minutes.
