Zakat Affairs Department Prepares to Deliver Zakat Al-Fitr to Beneficiaries
Doha — The Zakat Affairs Department at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has launched its yearly operation to get Zakat Al-Fitr to eligible households before Eid prayers. Director Mal Allah Abdulrahman Al Jaber said the effort follows Islamic Sharia and the Sunnah of the Prophet.
Operational planning and verification
The department said teams first calculate the number of beneficiaries. They verify eligibility using established Sharia Zakat banks.
Food parcels are prepared only after confirmation. The parcels contain staple food items commonly used in the local community.
Packing and distribution process
Packages are assembled to precise specifications. Work teams coordinate onsite to ensure timely delivery.
Distribution aims to reach recipients before the Eid prayer. This timing supports the ritual’s charitable purpose and intended social impact.
Respecting dignity and efficiency
The department gives priority to preserving beneficiaries’ dignity and ensuring just allocation. Deliveries are made directly to homes.
Direct, confidential delivery protects privacy and improves speed. The teams collaborate with professional delivery companies for wider reach.
Appeal to the public
Al Jaber urged residents to pay Zakat Al-Fitr through the department. He noted there are multiple, easy channels for donations.
Filmogaz.com reports the initiative underlines the ministry’s commitment to support needy families. The Zakat Affairs Department will continue coordinating efforts until distribution is complete.
