Bowman, Larson, Elliott Secure Top 10 Daytona 500 Qualifying Lap Times
Alex Bowman, Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott all recorded top-10 qualifying lap times for the Daytona 500. NASCAR held single-lap qualifying over two rounds at Daytona International Speedway on Wednesday. The fastest 10 drivers advanced to the second session to decide the front row.
Top qualifiers and lap times
Kyle Busch captured the pole with a lap of 49.006 seconds. Chase Briscoe and Ryan Preece ran second and third. Denny Hamlin and Corey Heim rounded out the top five.

Duel races will set most of the field
Single-lap runs decided only the front row. The remainder of the starting grid will be finalized in the Duel at Daytona races. Thursday’s two Duels will determine the odd- and even-numbered starting positions for Sunday.

Field size and schedule
Forty-one cars will make the Daytona 500 starting grid. Four open-entry cars will be eliminated after the Duels. The Duels air on FS1 Thursday, Feb. 12, and the Daytona 500 runs Sunday, Feb. 15 on FOX.
