Zakat Al Fitr Distribution Rolled Out by Zakat Affairs Department to Reach Eligible Families
The Zakat Affairs Department at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has embarked on implementing its annual plan to funnel zakat al fitr contributions to eligible recipients in a timely manner, following guidelines put out in Islamic Sharia and aiming to enrich the lives of the needy as Eid Al Fitr approaches.
Zakat Al Fitr Packaged for Timely Delivery
The department is preparing and packaging staple food items commonly used in the local community into dedicated food parcels, following the Sunnah of the Prophet. These parcels are built to meet precise criteria determined by the department so that distributions can be completed before Eid prayer, ensuring the ritual’s aim of bringing joy to recipients’ homes.
Verification, Onsite Teams and Home Delivery
An integrated plan has been set to calculate the number of beneficiaries and verify their eligibility through established Sharia Zakat banks. Onsite work teams prepare the parcels based on those calculations and then carry out distribution operations. The department gives overriding priority to safeguarding beneficiaries’ dignity and achieving justice in delivering assistance to these segments.
Work teams are undertaking constant efforts to maintain organization and accuracy during the distribution period. Parcels are delivered directly to homes in collaboration with professional delivery companies, a process designed to protect privacy, increase efficiency and speed, and ensure beneficiaries’ comfort through confidential delivery.
Collection Channels and Appeal to Contributors
The department has urged people to pay zakat al fitr through its established channels to facilitate routing contributions to eligible beneficiaries. Multiple easy channels are available, including ubiquitous collectors deployed to shopping malls and other areas nationwide, as well as the department’s website and application, to help funnel contributions to recipients in a timely manner in line with Islamic Sharia.
Director of the Zakat Affairs Department, Mal Allah Abdulrahman Al Jaber, underscored the importance of ensuring timely distribution and the department’s commitment to delivering parcels directly and confidentially to protect beneficiaries’ privacy while enhancing distribution efficiency.
