A coordinated search began near Lahinch on Monday morning for jack boddy missing since the early hours of Sunday, with his family described as extremely concerned. The Limerick native, part of the Clare U20 football management as a strength and conditioning coach, was last seen in the Lahinch area.
Search Focuses Near Hanrahan’s Cross Outside Lahinch
The operation is centered around Hanrahan’s Cross at Moy on the outskirts of Lahinch. Organizers have flagged minimal parking at Hanrahan’s Cross, roughly one kilometre from the Miltown Malbay side of Lahinch. Those assisting have been asked to park just beyond Moy House—where parking was previously provided for the Irish Open—and to take extra care on what is a busy stretch of road. Agencies Involved And Areas Being Searched
The Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard, Clare Civil Defence, and the Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter are engaged in the effort. The helicopter, operating under the Rescue 115 call sign, has been conducting sweeps of both the coastline and inland areas. Land search and drone teams from Doolin Coast Guard and Clare Civil Defence are also deployed, while members of the public have been walking local roads to look for any sign of the missing man.
