Musician Labrinth, who composes music for Euphoria — a series that helped launch stars including hunter schafer — has publicly distanced himself from the show and declared he is “done with this industry” in a forceful Instagram post. The move has raised questions about whether his work will remain part of the upcoming third season and came alongside the unexpected release of an unreleased track online.
Labrinth’s Instagram Post and Public Break With the Show
In a blunt message shared on Instagram, Labrinth wrote that he is “done with this industry, ” and used expletives aimed at his record label and the series. He wrote: “F–k Columbia. Double f–k Euphoria. I’m out. Thank you and good night x. ” The musician also expressed that he was “out” in a strongly worded post that criticized the series and Columbia Records, which releases the soundtrack.
The post followed a public appearance at Paris Fashion Week in which Labrinth was photographed alongside the show’s creator, who had teased footage from the new season. Labrinth has been responsible for writing the score and contributing songs to the first two series and earned an Emmy for the song “All For Us. ” The reason for the apparent rift with the show has not been disclosed.
Hunter Schafer Listed Among the Cast as Questions Grow Over Season 3 Music
The HBO drama, which launched in 2019 and helped boost careers of several young actors including Hunter Schafer, is scheduled to return with an eight-episode third series set to launch on 12 April. The new season is described as including a time jump that takes characters out of high school.
