Sebastian Maniscalco Reacts to SNL: Marcello Hernandez and Harry Styles "Absolutely Nailed It"
Sebastian Maniscalco

Sebastian Maniscalco is having a big weekend — without leaving home. The night after Harry Styles and Marcello Hernandez teamed up to impersonate him on Saturday Night Live, the real Maniscalco took to social media to deliver the most quotable reaction of the day.

Maniscalco's Viral Response — "Come In and Do It Myself"

Maniscalco posted on X Sunday, writing: "I've been on SNL twice now, which sounds impressive until I tell you neither time was as the host. At this point, Harry and Marcello have logged more rehearsal time as me than I have. Both of them were hilarious and absolutely nailed it. Maybe the third time I come in and do it myself."

The post immediately went viral, with fans calling for SNL to finally book Maniscalco as a full host after years of him appearing on the sidelines of his own impression.

The "New Lawyer" SNL Sketch: What Happened

In the sketch, a defendant in a criminal trial played by Tommy Brennan gets help from his court-appointed lawyer — Sebastian Maniscalco, played by Marcello Hernandez.

Hernandez's Maniscalco character burst into the courtroom declaring: "You're not gonna believe dis: I'm a lawyer now. I went to night school and I passed the test. I canceled a gig to be here, and my agent was like, 'Why would you do that?'" He then paced behind Harry Styles' prosecutor character, adding a comedic riff about allegedly stolen clothing.

Hernandez delivered the entire impression while moving around the courtroom, at one point literally jumping over Jane Wickline — who played the deadpan court stenographer — earning one of the biggest laughs of the night. Styles' prosecutor character then attempted his own Maniscalco impression, repeating the phrase "You ever notice this?" Kenan Thompson presided as the judge throughout.

How Marcello Hernandez Does the Sebastian Maniscalco Impression

Hernandez previously told Jimmy Fallon the key to the impression: "If you want to do Sebastian right, you have to always be exhaling while you're talking, and everything is a question." The physical comedy — oversized hand gestures, dramatic pauses, and emphatic pronunciation — is equally central to landing the bit.

A Growing SNL Tradition

The New Lawyer sketch marks the third time Hernandez has pulled out the Maniscalco impression on SNL. He first played Maniscalco auditioning for a role in a Wicked Auditions sketch in Season 50, then starred in a viral bachelor party sketch with Glen Powell hosting in November 2025, and now again with Styles in the courtroom bit.

Maniscalco acknowledged SNL had asked him to make a cameo at the end of the November sketch, but he could not make it work with his schedule. He praised Hernandez for doing a "fantastic job" and noted the parody generated more online traction for him than any video he had posted himself.

Fans Want Sebastian Maniscalco to Host SNL

The reaction across social media Sunday is unanimous — it is time for Maniscalco to stop being impersonated on SNL and start hosting it himself. The clip of the New Lawyer sketch has already amassed millions of views on YouTube, with fans calling it one of the funniest moments of Season 51.
