Marshals Tv Series: Renewal Comes Less Than Two Weeks After Debut
The network confirmed the renewal 12 days after the show’s premiere. The pickup follows what CBS described as the best start for a scripted network series in several years and places the series in the network’s lineup for 2026-27 alongside other first-year dramas.
Ratings Roundup: Premiere Numbers, Streaming Reach and Episode Two Hold
The marshals tv series opened on March 1 with an initial live airing audience of 9. 52 million viewers and, after a week of streaming and other delayed viewing, grew to 20. 6 million multiplatform viewers. The premiere also ranked as the most-streamed episode of a CBS program on the network’s streaming platform and was identified as the most-watched broadcast original series premiere without an NFL lead-in since 2017.
The series’ second episode drew an on-air audience of 8. 4 million, holding well from the premiere. Delayed viewing numbers for episode two will not be available for about a week, leaving total multiplatform figures for that episode pending.
Cast, Creators and How the Show Is Positioned
Luke Grimes reprises his Yellowstone role as Kayce Dutton, joining a team of federal marshals operating in Montana. The cast also includes Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos and Tatanka Means, with returning Yellowstone actors Mo Brings Plenty, Brecken Merrill and Gil Birmingham appearing.
Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios produce the series. Creator and showrunner Spencer Hudnut executive produces alongside Yellowstone creators Taylor Sheridan and John Linson and a group of executive producers that includes David Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Freidman, Luke Grimes and Greg Yaitanes.
The network framed the fast renewal as a response to overwhelming viewer demand and the show’s strong cross-platform performance. With delayed-viewing tallies for episode two still forthcoming, the immediate consequence is a confirmed second season and a secured spot in the network’s next broadcast season.
