Josh Groban Announces Cinematic: Track List and Guest Artists
Cinematic is billed as a tribute to the world of the silver screen. The album was produced by Greg Wells and recorded in both Los Angeles and London. It features a number of notable collaborators, including a duet with Jennifer Hudson and contributions from the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles and Groban’s father, Jack Groban.

The Lion King track has been released as a lyric video performance that showcases Groban with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. The album also includes a rendition of “Moon River” that features Jack Groban on trumpet and a duet of “Unchained Melody” with EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson.
Tour Plans and High-Profile Performances
josh groban recently kicked off his GEMS World Tour with a sold-out performance in Honolulu and will continue the tour with a set of international dates in Dublin, London, Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Amsterdam. The North American leg resumes in June with Jennifer Hudson as special guest, including stops at TD Garden in Boston on June 6, Madison Square Garden in New York City on June 12, and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on June 16.
He is also set to perform at the 2026 Oscars and will return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace this fall for a Las Vegas residency titled GEMS The Las Vegas Residency.
Production, Themes and Artist Notes
The project was produced by Greg Wells and recorded in both Los Angeles and London. Groban framed Cinematic as an effort to honor the way film music elevates storytelling. He said, “There’s something incredibly powerful about the way a song or score can elevate a story and stay with you long after the credits roll. With Cinematic, I wanted to honor that feeling—the nostalgia, the drama, the romance—while bringing my own voice and perspective to these timeless songs. “
The release follows Groban’s recent stage work, including a Tony-nominated turn in the title role of a revival of Sweeney Todd and a previous Tony nomination for his Broadway debut in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812. Cinematic is presented as Groban’s 10th studio album and his first collection of new material in more than five years.
Pre-orders and pre-saves are available ahead of the May 8 release, and the album will be issued on Reprise Records. Fans can expect the full 10-track project to arrive on that date.
