The rookie opened his day with three birdies in the first four holes and added one more to close out the front nine. How the Other Canadians Fared On Sunday
Taylor Pendrith began the day having finished Saturday at even-par and 1-under for the tournament. He started Sunday with a birdie attempt on Hole 2, then bogeyed Holes 8 and 10 before responding with consecutive birdies on 12 and 13. A double-bogey on 16 left him 1-over for the day and even for the tournament.
Nick Taylor, who had entered the final day 2-under for the week, had a mixed round. He bogeyed the opening hole and the 6th, but closed the front nine with a birdie and added another on 11. A bogey on 13 left him 1-over for the round and 1-under for the tournament overall.
Corey Conners, the last Canadian to tee off and four shots back of the lead at the start of the day, struggled early with back-to-back bogeys on Holes 2 and 3 and two more on 5 and 6. He finished the front nine and opened the back nine with a birdie, moving to 2-over on the round and 6-under overall as he contended through the closing holes.
What’s At Stake On The Final Day
With four of six Canadians still on the course, the final round at TPC Sawgrass will determine how shares of the $25 million purse are distributed. The late surge by the rookie and the swings posted by the other Canadians have set up a finish in which position changes on the back nine will decide individual payouts and final tournament placements.
