Selection Sunday 2026: Bracket Revealed Tonight on CBS
The 2026 NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed at 6 p.m. ET today, Sunday, March 15, on CBS. Of the 68 teams in the field, 31 earn automatic bids through conference tournaments, while the remaining 37 spots go to at-large teams selected by the NCAA Selection Committee.
The First Four tips off Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18, with the Final Four set for Indianapolis on April 4 and 6. Lucas Oil Stadium hosts the national championship game on April 6.
Big Ten Championship: Michigan vs. Purdue Live Now
The Big Ten title game is underway right now at the United Center in Chicago. Michigan leads Purdue 34-37 with under a minute remaining in the first half. No. 1 Michigan reached the championship by surviving Wisconsin 68-65 on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Yaxel Lendeborg. Howard defeated North Carolina Central 70-63 to claim their MEAC bid — marking Howard's third NCAA Tournament appearance since 2023. UMBC defeated Vermont 74-59 to earn the program's first NCAA Tournament bid since 2018.
Utah State won the Mountain West at 28-6 behind leading scorer MJ Collins Jr. Akron won the MAC title and extended its streak to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances. Prairie View A&M won the SWAC for their third all-time appearance.
First-Time and Historic Qualifiers in the 2026 NCAA Tournament Field
Queens and California Baptist will each make their NCAA Tournament debuts in 2026. Queens qualified in its first year of tournament eligibility, becoming only the fifth program since 1972 to accomplish that feat. Tennessee State makes its third-ever appearance — first since 1994. Idaho returns for the first time since 1990, and Hofstra punches its first bid since 2001.
The full bracket drops tonight at 6 p.m. ET on CBS. The hunt for the 2026 national championship officially begins Tuesday.
