In this dating experiment, singles build connections based purely on chemistry and compatibility. There is only one question they cannot ask: "How old are you?" When a couple feels ready to take the next step, they commit to each other before revealing their ages.
After passing through what the show calls the Promise Room, the surviving couples move to Vancouver, British Columbia, for a cohabitation phase — testing whether their real-world connection holds up once the numbers come out.
Nick Viall Age and Natalie Joy: The Hosts Who Live the Premise
Nick Viall is 45 years old. He and Natalie Joy, 27, share an 18-year age gap that has been widely discussed since they first went public in 2020.
The story of Nick Viall and Natalie Joy began in July 2020 when Natalie, then 20, reached out to Nick — then 38 — through an Instagram direct message. Nick later admitted on his podcast that while the message was playful, he was immediately struck by her profile. He was so cautious about the age gap that he checked her ID before their first date to confirm she was of legal age.
The Age of Attraction hosts were initially hesitant about taking on the show, wanting to ensure age-gap relationships would be portrayed responsibly. Natalie said, "Compatibility has no age range. If you are connecting with someone, lean into that."

New episodes of Age of Attraction drop every Wednesday at 3 a.m. ET on Netflix. Episodes 6 and 7 arrive March 18, Episode 8 on March 25, with the finale following shortly after.
The show was created entirely by two women, a rarity in the dating reality genre. Creator Jennifer O'Connell said the team wanted to tell an age-gap story without the "cougar" or "MILF" labels that have historically plagued similar concepts: "We felt we would do a really good job with it."
