Helicopter-Assisted Search Leads to Discovery
Officers carried out inquiries and searches in the area surrounding Poole with assistance from the NPAS helicopter. Police confirmed that following those enquiries and searches the individual has now been located and that the force is grateful to members of the public who shared the appeal that supported the operation.
Who Was Reported Missing And Last Known Whereabouts
The man, named Stephen and aged 32, was last seen at around 7: 00 pm ET on Saturday, March 14, on Buckingham Road. He was described as five feet nine inches tall with a medium build and short brown hair. At the time he was reported missing he was wearing a dark-coloured Puffa-style jacket, black jean shorts, white and grey trainers and a black cap.
Police Appeal, Welfare Concerns And Next Steps
Dorset Police said officers had been searching because they understood Stephen had been upset recently and that finding him was necessary to ensure his wellbeing. An inspector appealed for anyone who believed they might have seen him, or a man matching the description, to come forward. The inspector also made a direct appeal to Stephen, urging him to contact police or his family so they can confirm he is safe and well.
The force asked anyone with information to contact them by telephone using the emergency number provided in the original appeal and quoting incident number 14: 538. Police reiterated their thanks to the public for sharing the appeal and assisting with inquiries across dorset.
With the immediate search concluded, officers will continue enquiries as needed to confirm the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and ensure appropriate welfare checks have been completed. The confirmation that Stephen has been found closes the most urgent phase of the response and allows investigators and welfare teams to focus on next steps.
