Bruno Salomone Dies at 55 After Long Illness
bruno salomone, the French actor and comedian best known for his role as Denis Bouley in the family series Fais pas ci, fais pas ça, has died at the age of 55, his agent Laurent Grégoire announced. He died on Sunday, March 15 after battling a long illness, the representative said on behalf of the family.
Bruno Salomone: Notable Roles and Public Profile
Salomone was widely recognised for playing Denis Bouley in the long-running family comedy Fais pas ci, fais pas ça, a series that initially left the air in 2017 after nine seasons and returned with a holiday telefilm at the end of 2020 and two new episodes in December 2024. He first reached a broad television audience in 2001 in the ensemble workplace sitcom Caméra Café.
On film, he appeared as Igor d’Hossegor, the rival of the title character in Brice de Nice, and had roles in other features including La Beuze. He was also known for his voice work, providing the voiceover for the quiz show Burger Quiz and performing dubbing parts such as the villain in The Indestructibles and Jolly Jumper in Lucky Luke.
How He Built His Career
bruno salomone began his public career as an entertainer, winning a televised talent contest for comedians in 1996. He was a member of the comedy troupe Nous ç Nous, performing alongside other emerging comics of his generation, and worked with Jean Dujardin early in his career. Raised partly in Marseille and later in the Paris suburbs, he developed an approach to humour that leaned on the absurd and found steady success on television and in film.
He continued to appear on television in recent years; his last credited TV role came in the series A priori, and the broadcaster has said the programme’s season 2 will resume late March with a different lead, Florent Manaudou, in place of Salomone.
Illness, Announcement and Legacy
Laurent Grégoire, speaking for the family, said it was with immense sadness that they announced Salomone’s passing and that he had died after a long illness. The statement offered no further details about the circumstances or funeral arrangements.
Colleagues and viewers remember him for a mix of television comedy, film performances and distinctive voice work that brought him into many French living rooms. The contrast between the Bouley family and the Lepic family was the comic engine of Fais pas ci, fais pas ça, and Salomone’s portrayal of Denis Bouley was a central element of that dynamic across the series’ run and its later returns.
For now, the family’s announcement closes an active career that ranged from live comedy troupes and talent shows to mainstream television and cinema. No further details about memorial plans have been disclosed.
