The Violet Hour places the Doctor and Yaz in 1926 London, where grief from the Great War and the Spanish flu shades the story’s atmosphere. The pair investigate the recent death of a medium and discover seances that conceal an unearthly power threatening the city. The story is presented as a full-cast audio drama and is offered for download or as a limited collector’s edition CD.
Joining the leads are David Robb as Colonel Maltravers, Liv Andrusier as the medium Esther, Olivia Marcus as Miriam, Joseph Arkley as doctor Kidney, and Anna Crichlow as Nellie. Jodie Whittaker described the script as “really beautiful, ” noting its exploration of ghostly elements and characters coping with pandemic-era loss.

Big Finish Confirms New May Release Aegis With Returning Characters
Big Finish has also announced The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures: Aegis, a new full-cast audio story by Noga Flaishon scheduled for release in May. In Aegis, the Doctor and Yaz confront an enemy known as the Tourist, a name that has trailed them across recent adventures. To face this foe the duo must infiltrate the Aegis Protectorate interplanetary defence expo and investigate the company’s primary export, the Trojan Program, while Yaz contends with her own difficulties.
The cast for Aegis includes the return of Jason Forbes as Prospero, the cerebral organoid introduced in a previous adventure, plus Juliet Aubrey as Aegis COO Athena Nikos, Maddison Bulleyment as the Tourist, and Shogo Miyakita as the Aegis mech soldiers.
