Dyson Daniels Sidelined as Hawks Beat Nets 108-97 for Eighth Straight Win

Jalen Johnson led Atlanta with 21 points, nine rebounds and nine assists as the Hawks kept rolling in what has become the league’s longest active streak. Zaccharie Risacher scored 19 points, Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 18, and CJ McCollum finished with 14 for Atlanta.

The Hawks began the current run with a win over Brooklyn on Feb. 22, and Thursday’s result pushed Atlanta into eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta sits 1 1/2 games behind seventh-place Toronto.

Dyson Daniels Out; Brooklyn Missing Michael Porter Jr.

Atlanta played without Dyson Daniels due to the toe injury. The Hawks also got Jonathan Kuminga back in the lineup after he missed three games with a bone bruise in his left knee; he had nine rebounds in 19 minutes.

Brooklyn, which has lost 12 of its last 14 games, was without its leading scorer Michael Porter Jr. because of a sprained right ankle. Josh Minott scored a career-high 24 points for the Nets in the loss.

Fourth-Quarter Run Puts Atlanta in Control

Atlanta led 57-50 at halftime, but the Nets moved in front 83-82 at the start of the fourth quarter. McCollum then scored six points during a 10-0 Hawks run that swung the game back toward the home side.

Brooklyn did not get closer than four points the rest of the way as Atlanta closed out the 108-97 win. Johnson scored 14 points in the second half as the Hawks maintained control down the stretch, even with dyson daniels unavailable.
