Chipotle BOGO Deal Today: Free Burrito Right Now With Tattoo — Friday the 13th Flash Offer Live 3–4 PM ET
Chipotle is running one of its most popular promotions of the year right now. The chain's "Tatted Like a Chipotle Bag" BOGO deal is live today, Friday, March 13, and all you need to unlock free food is any tattoo — real, temporary, or even drawn on with a marker.
How to Get the Chipotle BOGO Deal Today
Chipotle is offering a one-hour buy-one-get-one-free deal on Friday, March 13, from 3 to 4 p.m. local time across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, and Germany. Customers simply need to show up in-restaurant during the flash window with any tattoo — whether permanent ink, a temporary tattoo, or a drawn-on design — to unlock the BOGO offer.
The promotion is limited to five free menu items per check and is subject to availability. Each free item requires the purchase of an entrée of equal or greater value. The deal is valid in-restaurant only and cannot be used for delivery, mobile, or online orders. Kids' meals do not count as an entrée purchase.
Purchased entrées during the one-hour BOGO period are eligible for Chipotle Rewards points, though the free items are not.
Chipotle x Swae Lee: Miami Exclusive Flash Tattoo Sheet
Chipotle tapped multi-platinum hip-hop artist Swae Lee to co-create an exclusive, limited-edition temporary tattoo flash sheet available only at the Midtown Miami restaurant at 3201 N. Miami Ave. on Friday, March 13, from 3 to 4 p.m. ET, while supplies last.
The collaboration taps into Gen Z nostalgia, with Chipotle and Swae Lee leaning into the viral "2026 is the new 2016" social media trend. The campaign features content built around Swae Lee's iconic 2016 anthem "Black Beatles," which originally fueled the viral mannequin challenge.
The partnership also coincides with Swae Lee's upcoming debut solo album, SAME DIFFERENCE, dropping April 3, with his first single "FLAMMABLE" already out now.
Where the "Tatted Like a Chipotle Bag" Meme Came From
The phrase "tatted like a Chipotle bag" comes from a 2019 post on social media comparing a shirtless Adam Levine during the Super Bowl halftime show to the black line artwork on Chipotle's to-go bags.
The first known comparison actually dates to 2015, but the phrase gained mainstream traction after the 2019 halftime performance went viral. Since then, fans have used the phrase across social media to create memes, jokes, and original content.
Chipotle first turned the meme into a real-world promotion on June 13, 2025, and that debut event drove the chain's highest-ever sales during the 3 to 4 p.m. non-peak hour. Today's Friday the 13th edition is the second time Chipotle has run the deal.
Chipotle Menu News: Chicken Al Pastor and New LTOs in 2026
Beyond today's BOGO, Chipotle has been active on the menu front this year. Chipotle kicked off 2026 menu innovation with the return of Chicken Al Pastor, one of its most requested limited-time items, and also celebrated top American athletes with new limited-time menu items and gold foil-wrapped burritos.
The chain's interim Chief Marketing Officer Stephanie Perdue said the tattoo promotion has evolved well beyond its meme origins. "What started as an internet meme became a real-world expression of fandom for our brand," Perdue said. "Bringing this promotion back for Friday the 13th further establishes our connection with the tattoo community."
The Chipotle BOGO offer closes at 4 p.m. local time today with no exceptions for online or delivery orders.
