What Happens in One Piece Season 2: Into the Grand Line
Season 2 consists of eight episodes adapting the Arabasta Saga, covering Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island arcs from Eiichiro Oda's long-running manga.
Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line, a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world's greatest treasure, they encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.
Each episode runs between 54 and 66 minutes, for a total runtime of approximately 481 minutes — about 30 minutes more content than Season 1 delivered.
One Piece Season 3 Already in Production
Netflix is not waiting to see how Season 2 performs before moving forward. Netflix greenlit One Piece Season 3 in August 2025, before Season 2 even aired. Season 3 began filming in November 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa, and will complete the Arabasta saga.
Ian Stokes joins Joe Tracz as co-showrunner for Season 3, continuing the long-term vision that show architects have laid out. With over 1,000 manga chapters serving as source material, the franchise has runway for years of storytelling ahead.
One Piece Season 2 is streaming now, exclusively on Netflix.
