Renowned hip-hop DJ and radio host Lord Sear has tragically passed away at the age of 52, as confirmed by SiriusXM on March 11. A tribute on his Instagram highlighted his profound impact, stating, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Lord Sear. He was more than a voice on the radio — he was a force, a friend, and family to so many of us.” 

Legacy of Lord Sear

Lord Sear’s illustrious career in hip-hop began in the 1990s with the group Kurious. He gained significant recognition as a host on the underground radio platform, “The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show.” In addition, he toured globally with Eminem during the Anger Management Tour in the early 2000s.

Sear is also remembered for his contributions to the gaming world, lending his voice to the fictional Game FM station in “Grand Theft Auto III.” His voice appears in the intro of Big Pun’s 2000 album “Yeeeah Baby.” For two decades, Sear served as a DJ and radio personality on Shade 45, SiriusXM’s hip-hop station established by Eminem in 2004.
