iPhone Fold Rumor: Multitasking Revealed, Lacks iPad Apps and Face ID
Apple is reportedly developing a foldable iPhone that promises a fresh, multitasking-friendly interface. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this innovative device will feature an iPad-style layout, allowing users to view multiple apps simultaneously.
Design and Display Features
The outer display of the foldable iPhone is expected to be comparable in size to a small iPhone. In contrast, the inner display will adopt a wider aspect ratio similar to that of the first-generation Pixel Fold. However, it will not resemble other leading foldables like the Pixel Fold 10 or Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Multitasking Capabilities
While the new layout aims to enhance multitasking, existing iPad apps will not be compatible with this device. Nevertheless, Apple plans to capitalize on the larger screen by adjusting its core applications to include a sidebar on the left side. Moreover, developers will have the opportunity to design iPhone versions of their apps to be more similar to iPad applications.
Authentication Features
The foldable iPhone is set to incorporate Touch ID instead of Face ID. Gurman indicates that the thin design of the front panel prevents the installation of the Face ID sensor array. Instead, a smaller hole-punch camera will replace the traditional pill-shaped notch.
Overall Design
Previous reports suggest that the device may resemble two iPhone Air units connected. Despite the absence of the notch, users can expect to see Apple’s Dynamic Island feature. This feature allows users to monitor real-time events effortlessly.

In terms of photography, the foldable iPhone will feature two rear cameras. Analysts estimate the device will retail for approximately $2,000.
