The program struggles with budget constraints compared to other Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) schools. “I think all the ACC coaches who have been fired – Boston College, Syracuse, and Georgia Tech – have the smallest budgets for NIL,” he said. This lack of resources, according to Boeheim, directly affects the team’s performance and the recruitment of top athletes.

McNamara has recently earned acclaim by leading the Siena Saints to the NCAA Tournament, overcoming a previous program record of 4-28 in his first year.
Boeheim shared that McNamara has already received interest from Boston College and Georgia Tech following his tournament success. “He’s proven himself,” Boeheim asserted. “He certainly deserves a look.” This endorsement adds weight to McNamara’s candidacy as Syracuse looks for its next head coach.
