One Piece Live Action Season 2

One Piece: Into the Grand Line dropped on Netflix at 3:00 a.m. ET on March 10, 2026, and the Straw Hats are already breaking records. All eight episodes arrived simultaneously, and critics are calling it one of the best live-action anime adaptations ever made.

What Time Does One Piece Season 2 Release — and How to Watch

One Piece Season 2 released on Netflix at 12:00 AM PT — that's 3:00 AM ET — on March 10, 2026. All eight episodes dropped at the same time worldwide, so fans everywhere could binge together on day one. Any active Netflix subscription gives access to all eight episodes immediately.

For the first time, Netflix screened the first two episodes in theaters across North America, with showings beginning at 6:00 p.m. local time on March 10 to coincide with the global Netflix premiere.

One Piece Season 2 Is Already Scoring a Perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes

The critical response is historic. On Rotten Tomatoes, the new season pulled in a 100% rating from 19 reviews — a decisive improvement over the 86% the first season earned. On Metacritic, it sits at 80/100, a major jump from the 67/100 of Season 1 and on par with prestige titles like The White Lotus and Slow Horses.

The audience response sits at around 99%, also a notable step up from Season 1's already strong 95% viewer score. That combination — critics and fans aligned — is rare for any streaming title, let alone a live-action anime adaptation.

IGN called it "nothing short of a miracle," praising the production design, costuming, and VFX work. Collider said the show "maintains the spirit of Eiichiro Oda's masterpiece, letting its freak flag fly." GamesRadar called it "stronger and more confident in almost every aspect," adding that its continued success "could be a game-changer for anime's future."

What One Piece Season 2 Covers — and Who's New

Season 2 consists of eight episodes adapting the Arabasta Saga, covering Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. The total runtime clocks in at 481 minutes — about 30 minutes more than Season 1.

The returning core crew is intact: Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar are all back as the Straw Hats. But the new additions are drawing serious attention. Joe Manganiello plays the villainous Mr. 0, David Dastmalchian slides in as Mr. 3, Katey Sagal steps into Dr. Kureha, and Mikaela Hoover voices fan-favorite Tony Tony Chopper as a CGI character.

Miss Wednesday and Chopper get engaging, emotionally resonant backstories that make them beloved almost instantly. Zoro's fight against 100 Baroque Works agents in Whiskey Peak is already being called the show's biggest action set piece yet.

One Piece Season 3 Is Already in Production

Netflix wasn't waiting for reviews to come in. The streamer greenlit Season 3 in August 2025, before Season 2 even aired. Production began in November 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa.

Season 3 will complete the Arabasta saga, with Ian Stokes joining Joe Tracz as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Tracz stepped up to solo showrunner status after co-showrunner Matt Owens stepped down in March 2025 for health reasons.

The long game is clearly in motion. Praise remains particularly high for Iñaki Godoy's Luffy, the production values, emotional resonance, and sheer entertainment of the series. Netflix's biggest anime bet just got a whole lot bigger.
