Oppo’s Latest Foldable Nearly Achieves Creaseless Design
Oppo’s upcoming Find N6 is generating buzz due to its innovative foldable display technology. Scheduled for a global launch on March 17th, this device has been marketed as featuring the world’s first “zero-feel crease” foldable screen. However, users may still detect a slight crease upon close inspection.
Innovative Design and Technology
The Find N6’s design focuses on minimizing the visibility and feel of the crease. Oppo employs a technique called 3D liquid printing to tackle this issue. The manufacturing process includes scanning the hinge with a laser to pinpoint any surface irregularities. Subsequently, a photosensitive polymer fills these gaps, which is then hardened using UV light. This method has been repeated over 20 times, resulting in surface variations measuring only 0.05mm—thinner than a single strand of hair.
Durability and Longevity
Oppo claims the crease in the Find N6 will remain subtle throughout the phone’s lifespan. The device incorporates a slightly thicker foldable glass, enhancing its resistance to deformation and ensuring better recovery of shape. In testing, a unit claimed to have endured 200,000 folds showed no noticeable wear compared to a new unit.
Camera and Features
While detailed specifications are still under wraps, Oppo has confirmed some impressive features for the Find N6:
- At least one 200-megapixel camera
- Stylus support
- IP56, IP58, and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance
While these ratings indicate a solid level of protection, they do fall short compared to competitors like the Honor Magic V6 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which offer higher IP ratings.
Launch Details and Availability
The Find N6 aims to compete with other foldable devices, featuring dimensions similar to the previous Find N5 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. It will be available in a silvery color, as well as an orange variant reminiscent of Apple’s designs. The full specifications will be revealed at the device’s upcoming launch; however, uncertainty remains about how “global” the rollout will be, as past models primarily launched in China and select Asian markets.
As anticipation builds for the March 17th unveiling, the Find N6’s innovative crease-less design and features will be crucial in determining its place in the foldable smartphone market.
