Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos Call Off Lake Como Wedding One Month Before April 10 Italy Ceremony After Bahamas Blowup, Cancel 250-Guest Destination Event
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos have ended their engagement — 30 days before a destination wedding in Italy that 250 guests had already made plans to attend.
The Split
The relationship had been rocky behind the scenes for months, but things came to a head with a blowup argument at their joint bachelor and bachelorette parties in the Bahamas — and Sarah Jane called it off.
A rep for Ramos pushed back on that framing, telling People the split was mutual. "There wasn't any rockiness in the lead up, and there was no big argument or blow up," the statement read. "It was a mutual decision."
Both accounts agree on the outcome. The wedding is off.
The Email
The former couple sent a cancellation email to the roughly 250 people slated to attend the destination wedding in Lake Como, Italy on April 10. The note read: "It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers." It was signed by both Ramos and Prescott.
Just weeks earlier, Ramos had posted from her bachelorette party and written on Instagram that she "can't wait to marry the love of my life" at their Italy ceremony. Before the split broke publicly, she captioned a post from the trip, "I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends."
Who Is Sarah Jane Ramos
Ramos and Prescott met after she attended one of his games against the New York Giants and appeared in a photo with the Cowboys quarterback. They began dating around September 2023.
On social media, Ramos describes herself as a Certified Wine and Spirits Specialist. She comes from a well-off family with deep roots in Tampa, Florida — a detail that became relevant when prenup rumors began circulating online after the split was reported.
Prescott proposed to Ramos in October 2024. They had their first daughter, MJ, in February 2024, and a second daughter, Aurora, in May 2025.
Prenup Rumors Knocked Down
Once the news broke, social media filled quickly with speculation that a disagreement over a prenuptial agreement triggered the Bahamas argument. Ramos addressed it directly. She contacted Speakeasy to say plainly: "This had nothing to do with a prenup. I hope we can put that rumor to rest now."
Sources also told TMZ that Ramos had often told friends she fully intended on making the marriage work no matter what — and that once they exchanged vows, divorce would not have been an option. She was also never asked to sign anything, the sources said, because she made clear she wasn't interested in Prescott's NFL salary.
What Comes Next
The former couple share daughters Margaret, 2, and Aurora, 9 months. Their rep said they are "committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way" and asked for privacy while they sort things out.
Prescott is heading into what was already set to be a pivotal offseason in Dallas. The Cowboys missed the playoffs at 7-9-1 last season, and the team has been active this offseason — most recently using the franchise tag on wide receiver George Pickens.
As recently as February 5, Prescott and Ramos appeared together on the NFL Honors red carpet ahead of Super Bowl LX in San Francisco. Five weeks later, the engagement was done.
